Moodle embedding doesn't work

9 years ago

can you advise - my tagul doesn't show up in Moodle - just the text 'created with Tagul.com' shows'.
Here's the embed code:

<div style="width: 400px; height: 400px; padding-bottom: 30px;">
<script src="http://cdn.tagul.com/embed/xt3nsrcxoddg"></script>
<!-- Please don't remove attribution to Tagul.com -->
<div style="display: table; margin: 0 auto;">Created with Tagul.com</div>
</div>

The moodle site sits on an HTTPS server, I have tried changing the url in the embed code to HTTPS - still doesn't work.

Any ideas please - really want to use this.

Hi Niki,

could you please send the link to the page where you embedded Tagul cloud so I could see what is wrong?

I can't send you a link becuase it is a password protected school Moodle site. I can send you screen shots but nowhere to attach.
The html page looks like this:

<p>
<script src="http://cdn.tagul.com/embed/xt3nsrcxoddg" type="text/javascript"></script>
</p>
<!-- Please don't remove attribution to Tagul.com -->
<div style="display: table; margin: 0 auto;">Created with Tagul.com</div>

The page the users see looks like this:

Created with Tagul.com

Has anyone ever embedded into Moodle before - any issues with Mahara may be similar if anyone has used Mahara???

Niki, I have to have a look at the page you embedded your code to find out why it doesn't work. Is there a way you could create 1 page with different password and share it with me (send it to support email)?

Hi, I don't have authority to give access to anyone outside the organisation, however, I tried embedding on to a Wordpress blog and same outcome: https://diginiki.wordpress.com/2015/05/19/testing/

That's because Wordpress.com cuts off script tags. The only way to embed Tagul clouds in Wordpress.com is to use Flash version.

Used to be I couldn't embed a Tagul cloud on my Canvas course site, which is https. My workaround was to create an HTML file with nothing but the cloud embed code, place it in a public Dropbox folder and then embed the html file on the Canvas site with an iframe tag naming the https Dropbox address as the source. The problem now is that I can't get a Tagul cloud to show up in the file hosted on Dropbox, neither with the standard code nor with the Flash code mentioned by Alex. The Flash code embedded directly on the Canvas site also doesn't work, even though it doesn't get stripped.

pmfarrell, the only way to embed tagul on https site currently is to host the script on your https site and change the embedding code to link to the host location.
