No, you don't need any buttons. Your biggest word is "Joy". Find it in Words section (it should be first word in the table) and input "http://www.barbaragarrett.com" into URL column. Then visualize and save your cloud. After 10 minutes click CTRL-F5 on your homepage and make sure you see the updated cloud. Then you may click on "Joy" word and it will take you to "http://www.barbaragarrett.com".

It can't be done with Tagul at the moment. You will need to save your cloud as PNG and then use image editing software (like Paint.net, GIMP or Photoshop) to put cloud image and source image together.

In words section input your home URL into the corresponding field for your biggest word and then Visualize and save your cloud. Then in 10 minutes refresh your browser and your cloud will be updated.

To be honest it is the first time I see such designs and have no idea how it was done and what software was used.

Unfortunately it is not possible to do such kind of designs with Tagul.

Let's most likely because you have "Use shape colors" selected in Colors and Animations section. Unselect that option and visualize your cloud again. That should work.

Photo most probably won't do well. You have to create some kind of a silhouette from your photo in image editing software (like Photoshop) to make it work better with Tagul.

It is not premium. There is a slider below color picker for background color that controls alpha channel of color. Just move it to the most left position to make the background transparent and save it as PNG.

I've just checked your clouds and they open fine.

Could you please advise what operating system and browser (with versions if possible) have you used?

You could also try another browser like Chrome or Firefox.
