using existing word list and a new image, saving under a new file name, losing original file.

Hello, I changed the image in Wordart and also changed the title of the file and saved it. The original file disappeared and only the new one was in the myartwork list. I did this because I had typed in a lot of words to be used and didn't want to type them again. I know I can type the words in a document and import them but when you do this they all appear as single words on a single line and I want some of my words to appear together in the same line so have to spend a lot of time retyping to get this. Is this an error in my programme or is it the norm and just what happens in the programme? This isn't a complaint, I just need to know so I can accommodate it. Cheers

Hello Pat,

I changed the image in Wordart and also changed the title of the file and saved it. The original file disappeared and only the new one was in the myartwork list.
When you click save you overwrite the old changes with the new ones. It works like when you hit save on MS Word document for example.

I did this because I had typed in a lot of words to be used and didn't want to type them again. I know I can type the words in a document and import them but when you do this they all appear as single words on a single line and I want some of my words to appear together
You can type each phrase on a new line and then enable the "CSV checkbox" when importing text to avoid phrases split into words.

Brill re CSV checkbox.
Overwriting - I know you overwrite as in Word but in Word if you change the title it saves it as a new file and you still have the old one. With Wordart even if you change the title it still overwrites the old one and you lose that file. I'm using loads of words and sometimes the change between images is very subtle. At the moment I save the first, download the image, do the changes in Wordart, download the image, compare them, pick which I want and if its the second one save the changes in Wordart. If its the first I undo what I've done (in Wordart) and save again (to make sure I've got it).Not complicated, just a bit fiddly. I'd send a picture but can't work out how to.

cheers

BTW you can use the "save as" from the "more" menu to keep the old changes and save the new.
