Trouble with Link pattern

I want my cloud to search tags on a WP MU-blog. The tags are found at myblog.se/tag. In the link patern I've writen myblog.se/tag/$tag. In the tag list everything looks fine and each tag is pointed to what would be a correct place. But. When i create the cloud I get an error message for all the words containing the swedish letters åäö. Is this a tagul-issue, a WP-issue or a user-fail-issue. I'm not that good at coding and just tried the link pattern out with trial and error.

I solved it myself. When I used the URL for a search instead of the URL for the WP tags it worked fine. I just added /?s=$tag.

I am very fond of the result. I used to visualize a 25000 characters text.
